EXCEL REPORTING FOR BUSINESSES
Excel Cash Tracker for Business
See what came in, what went out and the cash left at the end of each month. Start with the demonstration, or discuss a tracker built around your records.
Discuss your reportA clear record of receipts and payments
A cash tracker is useful when receipts and payments sit in separate spreadsheets and you need one consistent monthly view. Record the date cash actually moves, choose receipt or payment, and use a positive amount. An invoice that has not been paid is not yet a cash receipt.
How the cash balance is calculated
Opening cash + receipts − payments = closing cash. The next month starts with the previous month’s closing balance. In the fictional example, £5,000 opening cash plus £57,000 received less £20,970 paid gives £41,030 closing cash across six months.
Set the reporting period before entering transactions
Choose the first day of a month and enter the cash balance immediately before it. The supplied workbook reports six months from that date. Transactions outside that period are flagged separately, so a date outside the selected window does not silently change the period total.
Keep the inputs consistent
The example has 1,000 transaction rows, unique transaction IDs, descriptions and categories. Correct entries marked REVIEW before using the dashboard. Duplicate IDs, missing descriptions or invalid amounts can withhold totals until the inputs are corrected.
Adapt the report to your business
A custom brief could cover your categories, reporting period and agreed cash summaries. We first review an anonymised sample and the checks needed to reconcile the result. Bank feeds, automated imports and bank reconciliation require a separate feasibility review.
You do not need to work in a particular industry. Tell us what data you have, what you need to understand and how often you update the report. HODASSA is led by Fábio Teixeira; scope, price, delivery date and acceptance checks are agreed before a build starts.
Questions about Excel cash tracking
Is this a cash-flow forecast?
No. The demonstration summarises cash already received and paid. Forecasting future receipts or payments needs separate assumptions and an agreed scope.
Does cash received equal profit?
No. This report follows cash movements. It does not calculate accrual profit, VAT or tax.
Can I use the example before contacting HODASSA?
Yes. Download it without signing up, save a copy and follow the instructions. It contains fictional data, so replace or adapt it carefully before using it for your own records.
